Police Arrest Two Watchmen Over Alleged Defilement of 14-Year-Old Student

Bolgatanga: The Upper East Regional Police Command has arrested two security men from the Bolgatanga Girls' Senior High School for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old student. The suspects, identified as Elvis Adongo, aged 38, and Adams Nyaaba Iddrisu, aged 72, are currently in police custody.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement issued by the Regional Police Command, signed by Chief Inspector Abdul-Rahman Sumaila, the Public Relations Officer, revealed that preliminary investigations showed the victim went to the school's security room to charge her tablet. It was in this location that Iddrisu allegedly forced her and engaged in sexual activity with her.

Further investigations established that Adongo, the second security guard, was also allegedly involved in the sexual misconduct with the student. The statement mentioned that when questioned by the school authorities, Adongo admitted to having had a sexual relationship with the victim.

The police have prepared a medical form to facilitate the medical examination and confirmation of the alleged incident. Meanwhile, the two suspects remain in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations. They are expected to be brought before the court soon.
