Paris: President John Dramani Mahama is set to co-chair the High-Level segment of the global One Health Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit convenes world leaders, health ministers, and global experts to devise coordinated solutions addressing public health, sustainable food systems, and disease prevention, amid growing concerns about cross-border health challenges.
According to Ghana Web, President Mahama, the founder of the Accra Reset Initiative, is slated to deliver two keynote addresses during the summit. His participation underscores Ghana's commitment to global health security and collaborative efforts in tackling emerging health threats.
The first of President Mahama's keynote addresses will occur during a session on Global Health Architecture. This session is co-chaired by President Macron and WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. It will focus on reforms to global health initiatives and the endorsement of a Political Declaration for international health cooperation.
In his second keynote address, President Mahama will open the High-Level segment for heads of state and government. Here, he will outline Ghana's vision and commitments on global health security, emphasizing the nation's leadership in promoting collaborative, cross-sectoral solutions to new health challenges.
