Sunyani: Pastor Dennis Sasu, the District Pastor of the Sunyani South Industrial Estate District of the Church of Pentecost, has urged Christians to consistently observe the Lord's Supper as a memorial to the sacrifices Jesus Christ made for humanity's sins. He highlighted that the Lord's Supper is a significant and sacred event on the Christian calendar, advising those who have neglected this practice to begin participating.
According to Ghana News Agency, Pastor Sasu, during a sermon at the Kings Assembly Auditorium in Sunyani, stressed that the Holy Communion is not just a symbolic ritual but a divine ordinance established by Jesus Christ. He stated that the Lord's Supper serves as a continual reminder of Christ's sacrificial death and the redemption secured through His blood. Pastor Sasu emphasized that partaking in the Lord's Supper is not optional but a commandment for believers.
Describing it as a spiritual feast with immense blessings, Pastor Sasu encouraged Christians to view the Lord's Supper as an opportunity to renew their faith and covenant with God. He urged the congregation to approach the feast with reverence and self-examination, reminding them that participation should be done in holiness and sincerity to strengthen spiritual beliefs and reinforce church unity.
Pastor Sasu warned against acts of immorality that are infiltrating the church, expressing concern that fornication is becoming prevalent within the congregation. He called on both clergy and lay members to uphold the standard of holiness. Additionally, he urged young people to guard their hearts and resist the temptation of pre-marital sex, which he said weakens spiritual growth and hinders one's relationship with God. Pastor Sasu concluded by encouraging Christians to uphold and defend the foundational principles of faith, including holiness, obedience, and commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
