Over 33,000 Delegates Prepare to Vote in Eastern Region NPP Constituency Elections

Koforidua: A total of 33,799 delegates in the Eastern Region are set to cast their votes on Saturday, July 11, in the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Constituency Executives Election. The election aims to select party executives across the region's 33 constituencies.

According to Ghana News Agency, voting is scheduled to occur from 0800 hours to 1600 hours at designated polling centers. Delegates will elect constituency executives responsible for guiding the party's activities over the next four years. Nana Aduro Numapau Awuah, the Eastern Regional Deputy Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), shared this information during an interview.

He explained that in 11 of the 33 constituencies, delegates will vote for all 11 constituency executive positions. In contrast, the remaining constituencies will hold elections for between two and 10 positions. Nana Awuah assured that ballot papers and other necessary election materials would be prepared by Thursday, July 9, ensuring a smooth electoral process.

Nana Awuah emphasized the importance of adhering to the election rules and encouraged contestants to seek clarification from the appropriate election committee when needed. He also urged journalists to confirm election-related details with designated electoral officers to promote accurate and responsible reporting.

The positions up for election include Chairperson, First Vice Chairperson, Second Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Organiser, Communications Officer, Women's Organiser, Youth Organiser, Treasurer, and Research Officer.
