Accra: The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) is poised to strike off 318 companies from Ghana's Companies Register as part of a renewed effort to enforce compliance and enhance the integrity of business records.
According to Ghana Web, the ORC's decision stems from Section 289(3) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), as detailed in a statement issued on May 19, 2026. The companies facing removal were identified in Volume 40 of the ORC Companies Bulletin, published on May 15, 2026, and have a three-month window to contest the action.
The ORC emphasized that companies failing to provide sufficient cause against their removal will be dissolved at the conclusion of the process. This move is part of a broader regulatory and compliance enforcement strategy aimed at ensuring the accuracy and reliability of Ghana's Companies Register.
