Accra: The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has successfully concluded its regional elections, electing new regional leaders across the country. The elections, which took place on August 15, 2026, witnessed some notable victories and unexpected defeats.
According to Ghana Web, the election saw prominent figures like Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, also known as COKA, and Abronye DC, officially Kwame Baffoe, securing victories in their respective regions. Appiah was elected as the regional chairman for the Ashanti Region, while Baffoe emerged victorious in the Bono Region. Conversely, candidates such as Paul Yandoh and Henry Kwabena Kokofu faced significant losses.
The following are the newly elected NPP regional chairmen: Odeneho Kwaku Appiah for the Ashanti Region, Kwame Baffoe for the Bono Region, Elvis Figo for the Upper East, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Aziz for the Upper West Region, Ignatius Kwasi Africa for the Western Region, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana for the Savannah Region, Robert Sarfo Mensah for the Ahafo Region, Dr. Yirenkyi for the Oti Region, Makafui Wanya for the Volta Region, and Fusheini Nurudeen for the North East Region. Notably, the Northern, Greater Accra, Bono East, Western North, and Central Regions have yet to finalize their leaders.
