According to ghana news agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, Mr Ali emphasized that effective communication would be critical to rebuilding the party's presence and connecting with voters at the grassroots. He shared his insights in an interview in Wa, ahead of the party's upcoming regional elections. The NPP has scheduled its regional election for Saturday, August 15, 2026, to choose leaders who will manage the party's affairs at the regional levels into the 2028 general election.
Mr Ali previously served as the Upper West Regional Communications Director from 2016 to 2022 and as the Information Technology Director for the NPP in the Wa West Constituency in 2016. With his experience, he indicated that political party communications should not be concentrated at the regional level but decentralised to the constituencies, electoral areas, and polling stations since the grassroots form the foundation of the party.
If elected, Mr Ali plans to facilitate the establishment, regular training, and resourcing of dedicated communication teams at the constituency levels within the region. This would enable them to effectively propagate the party's message within their respective jurisdictions. He stated that resourced, encouraged, and trained communicators could better sell the party at local events such as markets, funeral grounds, and during services.
The aspirant also identified social media as another critical area to improve the party's communication efforts. He noted that new media is increasingly becoming more influential in political communication. If given the nod, he plans to lead the party's communication team in the region to identify young communicators with the requisite skills to effectively use social media platforms to defend and promote the party's interests.
Mr Ali intends to collaborate with regional and national executives, as well as other experienced communicators within the party across the country, to facilitate training for communicators. He believes that the consistent presence of communicators at the grassroots, coupled with effective messaging, would help the party strengthen its engagement with the electorate.
Mr Ali expressed optimism that the implementation of the proposed measures would help strengthen the NPP's communication machinery in the region and contribute to improving its electoral performance.
