NPP Hits Accra Streets for ‘Democracy Under Attack’ Demonstration

Accra: Hundreds of members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have taken to the streets of Accra to protest what the party describes as an attack on democracy under the current government. The demonstration, named "Democracy Under Attack," focuses on defending civil liberties, the rule of law, and democratic accountability.

According to Ghana Web, the protesters began their march from the Supreme Court and are heading towards the Jubilee House. This route signifies their intent to express concerns and frustrations over what they perceive as threats to Ghana's democratic values.

The protest has garnered support from various groups, including the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG), which has joined in supporting the demonstration. The presence of these groups indicates a broader discontent with the current state of governance and a unified call for the preservation of democratic principles.
