NPP Disqualifies Five Aspirants in Sunyani East Constituency Elections

Accra: The New Patriotic Party (NPP) vetting committee in the Sunyani East Constituency has disqualified five aspirants who had filed nominations to contest for executive positions within the constituency. Mr. Henry Osei Karikari, the Bono Regional Director of Elections and Research for the NPP, confirmed that a total of 41 aspirants had submitted their nominations to participate in the upcoming constituency elections.

According to Ghana News Agency, the leadership of the NPP has scheduled the constituency elections for July 11 and July 12, 2026, as part of their preparations for the Election 2028. Mr. Karikari shared in an interview with the media in Sunyani that the vetting process concluded over the weekend across all 12 politically administrative constituencies in the region.

The reasons behind the disqualification of the five aspirants in the Sunyani East Constituency were not immediately disclosed by Mr. Karikari. However, he assured that the party would engage with the media on any emerging issues and concerns arising from the vetting process of the aspirants.
