Kumasi: Nolap Technologies has emerged as the winner of the MTN Business Pitch Competition held during the Ashanti Fest, securing a GHS30,000 prize to scale up its innovative business solution. The competition was organized by MTN Ghana under its SME support initiatives and featured five groups of young entrepreneurs presenting technology-driven ideas aimed at solving pressing business challenges. According to Ghana News Agency, Nolap Technologies stood out among the contestants by delivering a solution that judges described as practical and impactful, earning it the ultimate prize. Other participants, including Pay Alert, Agrihub, and Agrifemix, showcased promising innovations focused on improving business operations through digital tools. Mr. Eric Antwi, Sales Manager for Northern Business District of MTN Ghana, stated at the event that the competition is part of efforts to identify and nurture viable business ideas within the SME space. He noted that the initiative provides a platform for entrepreneurs t o transform concepts into actionable solutions using MTN Business tools. Mr. Antwi emphasized that beyond the prize money, MTN would continue to support the winner through mentorship and monitoring. He explained that a dedicated team would work closely with Nolap Technologies over the next year to ensure the successful implementation and growth of its business model. The program aims not only to reward innovation but also to sustain businesses and help them scale. He also disclosed that the SME initiative, now in its third year, had impacted over 100,000 small and medium-sized enterprises through the SME Plus programme. Furthermore, about 20,000 women benefited from the Adwumawura bundle, while more than 30,000 businesses received support through the Yellow Biz platform. Mr. Antwi highlighted the role of capacity-building programmes such as the SME Clinic, which equips entrepreneurs with skills in financial management, branding, and packaging. Mr. Antwi reiterated the critical importance of investing in SM Es for economic growth, stressing that initiatives like the pitch competition are key to unlocking opportunities within the sector. The Ashanti Fest celebration continues with activities aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, culture, and community development in the Ashanti Region.
