Ningo-prampram: The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly (NiPDA) recently conducted its First Quarter Town Hall Meeting to evaluate its community development plans and outline future strategies. The meeting served as a platform for the assembly and various stakeholders to review activities from the previous quarter and plan upcoming initiatives within the district.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Raphael Uriel Nartey, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for NiPDA, emphasized that the meeting was part of the Assembly's accountability process to the public. He explained that the engagement aimed to update stakeholders on completed projects, revenue mobilization, and overall development during the first quarter. Mr. Nartey highlighted the importance of revenue mobilization, noting that internally generated funds are crucial for local development.
Despite challenges in revenue collection, Mr. Nartey expressed optimism that ongoing public education would improve compliance. He revealed that the assembly exceeded its budget targets for the first quarter and successfully completed several projects. Efforts are ongoing to expand development initiatives throughout the district, and he urged residents to support these efforts and participate actively in development processes.
Madam Abigail Agbozo, the District Planning Officer, highlighted achievements such as the construction of a three-unit classroom block at New Ningo D/A Basic 'C' and an ongoing Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Someh. The construction of a two-unit kindergarten block at Prampram D/A Basic School has also helped reduce classroom congestion.
She further mentioned that the Assembly organized a Best Teacher Award Scheme last year to motivate educators and improve learning outcomes. NiPDA continues to empower youth through apprenticeship programs, skills training, and rights sensitization to reduce vulnerability. Other interventions include streetlight installations, road safety education, and community clean-up exercises.
Madam Agbozo assured stakeholders that the assembly would equip the CHPS compound upon completion to enhance healthcare delivery and implement additional projects to accelerate district development.
