Nigeria and Egypt Triumph at Flag Africa NFL Continental Championship Titles in Kenya

Nairobi: Nigeria and Egypt have emerged victorious at the Flag Africa National Football League (NFL) Continental Championship held in Nairobi. Nigeria clinched the women's title, while Egypt secured the men's title in the competition organized with the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) and played according to international flag football rules. Nigeria also claimed the NFL Flag Africa Continental Youth title. According to African Press Organization, this championship signifies a significant step in the growth of flag football in Africa, especially with the sport set to debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The event spanned three days and saw athletes from five nations compete for continental titles. Nigeria triumphed over Egypt in the women's category, and Egypt narrowly defeated Nigeria to win the men's title. In the youth category, Nigeria overcame Ghana. South Africa earned bronze medals in the men's and youth categories, while Kenya secured bronze in the women's competition.
