Kumasi: Mr Kwadwo Owusu Bempah, an aspirant for the Nhyiaso NPP constituency chairmanship, has handed over an ICT centre, a mechanised borehole, and a canteen shed to Atasemanso M/A Junior High School. The facilities were fully funded by Mr Owusu Bempah in memory of the late Nhyiaso constituency chairman, Mr George Kofi Adjei, known as GEOKAD.
According to Ghana News Agency, the handing over ceremony saw the attendance of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, along with traditional leaders, clergy, party executives, residents, teachers, pupils, and party supporters. Mr Owusu Bempah highlighted that the ICT Centre can accommodate about 40 pupils, providing them with a practical learning environment in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
He stated that the mechanised borehole would ensure a steady supply of clean water for the school and the community, while the canteen shed would offer a more comfortable space for pupils during meal times. Mr Owusu Bempah urged school authorities, teachers, and pupils to maintain the facilities for future generations and encouraged pupils to utilize the ICT Centre to enhance their digital skills.
Mr Owusu Bempah emphasized that the projects demonstrate his commitment to quality education and preserving the legacy of the late GEOKAD, whom he praised for his leadership in strengthening the NPP in Nhyiaso. He appealed to NPP delegates in the constituency to support his candidacy in the upcoming elections scheduled for July 12, 2026, promising to continue community development initiatives and strengthen party structures if elected.
Nana Ofori Nyarko, representing Nana Owusu Barima III, the Chief of Atasemanso, commended Mr Owusu Bempah for his contributions to educational development. He urged the school's management, staff, and pupils to maintain the facilities to ensure their long-term benefits.
