Nestl© Ghana Launches New Classroom Blocks in Suhum Communities

Suhum: The Managing Director of Nestl© Ghana, Salome Azevedo, has reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting education and community development with the inauguration of new classroom blocks for schools in cocoa-growing communities. Speaking at a ceremony held at Adarkwa Methodist Primary School in Suhum in the Eastern Region, Azevedo highlighted the importance of providing a safe and inspiring environment for teaching and learning.

According to Ghana Web, the newly completed six-unit classroom block includes office, storeroom, and toilet facilities, emphasizing the critical role classrooms play in shaping the future of children. Azevedo stressed that effective learning occurs in environments that are clean, safe, spacious, and properly ventilated. She noted that when students feel comfortable and respected in school, they are able to build confidence and nurture their dreams.

Azevedo disclosed that Nestl© Ghana has commissioned four schools in the Ashanti Region and two additional schools, including the Adarkwa facility. Through a partnership with ECOM, work is ongoing on three more school projects expected to be completed by the end of 2026. She described these projects as part of the company's 'Nestl© for Good' initiative, which aims to improve educational infrastructure in underserved communities, particularly within cocoa-growing areas.

Azevedo expressed appreciation to stakeholders who contributed to the project's success, including government agencies, community leaders, school authorities, residents of Adarkwa, and staff of Nestl© Ghana. She commended all parties for their dedication to improving education in the community.

Addressing the students, Salome Azevedo encouraged them to study hard, respect their teachers, and believe in themselves, describing the new facility as a symbol of hope and opportunity. She called on teachers, parents, and the community to protect the infrastructure to ensure it serves generations of children in the years ahead.
