Accra: The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has presented high-powered jungle motorbikes to all nine Constituency Directors of Elections and Information Technology (IT) in the Oti Region. This initiative is part of efforts to strengthen the party's grassroots electoral structures and improve operational efficiency.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gabriel Lemboe, the Oti Regional Secretary of the NDC, disclosed the presentation was made under the leadership of the party's National Chairman, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia. The motorbikes are intended to enhance mobility and facilitate the work of constituency election and IT directors, particularly in monitoring electoral activities, coordinating field operations, gathering data, and supporting voter education initiatives across the region.
Mr. Lemboe noted that this latest donation follows an earlier presentation of a brand-new pickup vehicle to the Regional Director of Elections and IT. These interventions are part of a broader strategy to retool the party's election machinery and strengthen communication channels ahead of future electoral activities. "The provision of these logistics demonstrates the party's commitment to empowering its constituency officers and ensuring that they have the necessary tools to effectively execute their responsibilities," the statement stressed.
The Oti Region comprises nine parliamentary constituencies, namely Nkwanta North, Nkwanta South, Kadjebi-Akan, Krachi Nchumuru, Krachi East, Krachi West, Biakoye, Guna, and Buem. Party officials explained that constituency directors of elections and IT play a critical role in managing electoral information, monitoring developments at the grassroots, coordinating party activities during elections, and ensuring efficient communication between constituency and regional structures.
