Florida: Awutu Okromansa Krom To mark her 52nd birthday, Madam Mary Nyamekye Ankrah, the Awutu Senya East Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has donated relief items valued at five thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC5,000.00) to the Royal Seed Orphanage located at Awutu Okromansa Krom along the Kasoa Ofaakor, Bawjiase Road.
According to Ghana News Agency, the donation comprised a variety of essential goods including bags of rice, sugar, toilet rolls, boxes of biscuit, tissues, diapers, bags of sachet water, gallons of cooking oil, gallons of liquid soap, second-hand clothing, soaps, boxes of tomato paste, washing powder, bed sheets, and carbonated drinks. These items are intended to support the management in the upbringing of the children.
Madam Ankrah, who is the immediate past President of the Saint Gregory Catholic Church at Gomoa Buduburam, along with Reverend Father Emmanuel Ofori Inkoom, the Parish Priest of the Church, presented the donations. She encouraged the management of the home to properly care for the children and ensure the items were used for their intended purpose. Additionally, she urged the children to lead good lives and concentrate on their education to become influential members of society.
Nana Naomi Esi Amoah, the Founder and Director of the orphanage, received the items and expressed gratitude to the donors. She assured that the items would be used judiciously to improve the welfare of the children. Nana Amoah highlighted that the orphanage offers parental care and training to needy children, preparing them to face life's challenges confidently. She appealed to individuals and organizations for support in paying electricity bills, which is affecting their operations.
The ceremony was attended by Madam Ankrah's family and church members who interacted and enjoyed time with the children, encouraging them to avoid negative behaviors. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Madam Ankrah expressed her thanks to God for her achievements and mentioned that she was motivated by the divine spirit to donate the items, aiming to bring joy to the children on her birthday. She reached out to her church, Brand High Senior High School management at Kasoa Opeikuma, her family, friends, and the NCCE for assistance.
Rev Fr Inkoom stated that it is the Church's responsibility to care for orphans, which motivated their support. He concluded by praying for the children and caregivers, asking for divine protection and guidance in their endeavors.
