Nana Pooley’s Wife Appeals for Justice to IGP Yohuno and GFA President Kurt Okraku

Kumasi: Yaa Gifty, the wife of the late Asante Kotoko supporter Nana Yaw Frimpong, known widely as Pooley, has made a heartfelt appeal to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, urging him to ensure that the individuals involved in her husband's murder are brought to justice. Despite ongoing investigations, she expressed concern over the lack of significant progress, with suspects reportedly in hiding. According to Ghana Web, during a commemorative visit by the Kotoko Global Supporters Council marking one year since Pooley's death, Gifty called on both the IGP and the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, to intensify their efforts in the investigation to ensure that the culprits are held accountable. Gifty shared her emotional struggle, highlighting the impact of her husband's death on her life and her hope that the authorities do not forget this unresolved issue. Gifty pleaded, "I want to appeal to the IGP and others to continue the investigations. I am be gging him to be merciful upon us and probe the case thoroughly. The person thinks he or she might have run but will definitely get tired along the way." She also recalled a conversation with Kurt Okraku, where he encouraged her to stay strong, emphasizing her desire for the matter to remain a priority. She also acknowledged the support of the Kotoko management during these challenging times, stating that their encouragement and consoling words have been more valuable to her than any financial assistance. Nana Pooley tragically lost his life on February 2, 2025, during violent incidents at a Ghana Premier League match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC at Nsoatre.
