Accra: Nana Nkansah Buadu, the Chief of Agric Nzema in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has expressed his displeasure with Kojo Mpiani, a prominent figure and former Chief of Staff in the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The chief has accused Mpiani of failing to adequately support the party.
According to Ghana Web, Nana Nkansah Buadu criticized Mpiani for his minimal financial contributions to the NPP, particularly in his own constituency. Despite being a senior member of the party, Mpiani's total financial support allegedly amounts to only GHS700. Buadu further accused Mpiani of engaging in actions that harm the party's interests.
"I am disappointed in one of the elders," Buadu remarked, noting Mpiani's attendance at a Steering Committee meeting despite not being a member. He questioned Mpiani's support to both the party and his constituency over the years, emphasizing the alleged GHS700 contribution. Buadu challenged Mpiani to deny these claims publicly if they were false.
The chief's comments align with the recent cancellation of the NPP constituency executive elections in Afigya Sekyere East. As the Chairman of the Council of Elders for the constituency and a member of the Ashanti Regional Council of Elders, Buadu insisted that the annulled election complied with the party's rules and legal processes.
In an interview on Okay FM, Buadu accused the NPP's national leadership of having vested interests in certain constituencies where elections were annulled. He declared that no fresh constituency executive election would occur in Afigya Sekyere East and warned the NPP General Secretary against further challenges, threatening to expose him publicly if the situation continued.
