Accra: Veteran musician Mzbel has disclosed that at a point in her life, she considered undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) to achieve a more defined body. In an interview on Bryt TV, she explained that she shared her intentions with a doctor friend, who recommended a well-known hospital in Ghana, prompting her to visit the facility for consultation.
According to Ghana Web, although Mzbel went through the examination process, what ultimately deterred her from getting the BBL was the possibility that images of her body could be used as part of the doctor's portfolio. During the consultation, the doctor showed her before-and-after photos of previous clients, including some celebrities, to demonstrate his work, which she didn't want her pictures to be included.
Mzbel expressed her discomfort with the idea that her photos could be used to showcase the doctor's work. "I wanted to do BBL so bad. I even went to a big hospital here in Ghana after a doctor friend recommended it. They examined me and everything, but what put me off was that the doctor, trying to prove how good he was, showed me before-and-after photos of people he had worked on, and some of them were celebrities. It made me feel like, with how flat my buttocks looks, he could also take my picture and show it to other people someday. It didn't sit right with me, so I decided not to go ahead with it," she shared.
Mzbel also spoke on giving birth at 44 and added that later in life, after embracing a spiritual path, she concluded that undergoing a BBL is not something that aligns with her values. However, she noted that her stylists now play a key role in helping her achieve the desired body look for certain occasions, using clothing techniques that enhance her curves when needed. "Later, when I got into the spiritual side, I realised it's not something someone like me should do, so I've given up on it. Now, if you're my stylist or making my clothes, you just have to pad it properly. If I'm going somewhere and curves are needed, I'll wear that just to avoid unnecessary talk," she added.
