Accra: Ghanaian musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel, has revealed her enjoyment of spending time with a 19-year-old boy and has expressed openness to the possibility of dating him if her current relationship ends.
According to Ghana Web, the 46-year-old artist shared her views on relationships with significant age gaps in a conversation with media personality ZionFelix. Mzbel emphasized that she finds nothing inherently wrong with such relationships, noting that societal norms often dictate perceptions without questioning their validity. She stated that the character of a person is more important than their age.
Currently in a relationship, Mzbel explained that she has not pursued a romantic relationship with the young man but appreciates his company. She also mentioned her inability to date multiple people simultaneously, suggesting that she might consider dating the young man if her current relationship concludes.
Mzbel's past experiences also inform her perspective on age in relationships. She recounted her first serious relationship with a man 28 years her senior, highlighting that age was never a deterrent for her. This relationship, which began positively, ended due to issues of jealousy and abuse as Mzbel's fame grew in the entertainment industry.
The singer shared that her former partner's jealousy led to controlling and abusive behavior, prompting her to eventually leave the relationship when she gained financial independence.
