Accra: Mental health holds equal significance to physical health, emphasized MomsConnectGH during their donation drive at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital. As part of activities marking Mental Health Awareness Day and Mother's Day, the group organised the drive under their outreach initiative, The Hannah Project.
According to Ghana Web, representatives from MomsConnectGH stressed the necessity of focusing more on mental health issues and supporting mental healthcare institutions nationwide. A representative stated, "Mental healthcare is just as important as physical healthcare. We all have a role to play in supporting mental health institutions and creating more awareness around these issues."
Dr Peggy Asiedu Ekremet, Head of Public Relations at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, expressed gratitude towards MomsConnectGH for their support. She urged the public to prioritise mental health and seek professional assistance when needed, stating, "Mental health issues can affect anyone. Seeking help is a sign of strength and not weakness. We encourage people to speak up and seek professional support when they need it."
MomsConnectGH highlighted that The Hannah Project is part of its broader mission to create a supportive community for mothers while positively impacting lives through outreach and wellness initiatives. The organisation also thanked the individuals, partners, and institutions that contributed to the success of the donation exercise.
