Minister for Energy Addresses Power Sector Challenges and Reforms

Accra: The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, is delivering an update as part of the ongoing 'Accountability Series.' This initiative is focused on engaging the public regarding government performance and policy direction in the energy sector.

According to Ghana Web, the update follows a fire outbreak at the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) substation in Akosombo, which has significantly disrupted power supply across the nation. The session serves as a platform for the minister to outline ongoing reforms and address challenges within Ghana's energy landscape. It also allows the minister to respond to questions from stakeholders and the general public.

Dr. Jinapor is expected to speak on issues such as power generation, energy transition policies, and efforts to ensure a sustainable and reliable electricity supply nationwide. The Accountability Series is part of the government's broader efforts to promote transparency and strengthen public trust by providing citizens with direct access to government officials and their work.
