Mr. Puozuing highlighted the need for investments in smart model schools, including prefabricated classrooms and hostels, as well as accommodation for universities and innovation hubs. These initiatives aim to improve educational outcomes in the region. Additionally, he underscored the importance of investing in the blue economy and climate change mitigation strategies, particularly in water resource management and renewable energy.
Emphasizing the need for a shift in mindset among youth, women groups, farmers, and public institutions, Mr. Puozuing advocated for a focus on green jobs, sustainable farming, and community ownership of projects. He invited both local and international investors to partner with the government in delivering priority development initiatives aligned with President John Dramani Mahama's Resetting Ghana Agenda.
The minister reiterated President Mahama's commitment to equitable development, noting the Upper West Region's significance to the President's vision. Mr. Puozuing called on GLOBE ENGINEERING and other potential investors to explore opportunities in health, education, climate, and water resources sectors.
He assured that the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) is committed to providing a conducive environment, land access, and full support to ensure the success of investments that benefit the region's populace. The RCC plans to adopt a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and community-driven approach to guarantee sustainability, transparency, and job creation for the youth.
Mr. Puozuing also announced plans for an Investors' Roundtable and project profiling session, inviting interested investors, development partners, NGOs, and diaspora groups to engage with the RCC. Dr. Benarkuu praised the RCC and the regional minister for their open-door policy, highlighting the importance of focusing on strengths to render weaknesses irrelevant.
