Lagos: Nigerian actress, Etinosa Idemudia, has publicly disclosed that her fellow actress, Mercy Johnson, played a crucial role in assisting her during a period when she faced death threats from her ex-husband. The revelation came during a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo.
According to Ghana Web, Etinosa began receiving life-threatening messages from her first husband following allegations she made about him being abusive during an interview. The actress detailed the situation, explaining that it all started when she inadvertently mentioned in an interview for a film, "Stormy Heart," that a past relationship had nearly cost her life. This remark, although made casually, led to a series of events that attracted unwanted attention from her ex-husband.
Etinosa recounted how the media focused on her personal remarks rather than the film's discussion, leading to severe backlash and threats from her ex-husband, who accused her of trying to damage his career. In response to the escalating threats, Etinosa took to Instagram to voice her concerns, which prompted various individuals to reach out in support.
Among those who offered assistance was Mercy Johnson, known for her strong ties to the military. Etinosa shared that Johnson promised to escalate the matter to the Chief of Naval Staff. The intervention proved effective as someone from Abuja contacted Etinosa, assuring her that measures were being taken and that her ex-husband would no longer pose a threat to her.
