Accra: The Information Services Department (ISD) has called on media houses to submit applications for accreditation to cover the upcoming 69th Independence Anniversary Parade at the Forecourt of the Presidency, scheduled for Friday, March 6.
According to Ghana News Agency, the ISD has issued a statement requesting media organisations to send an official letter of assignment, including the names and contact details of nominated journalists and camera crew, to the designated email address: [email protected]. Dr. Winifred N. Mahama, the Acting Director of ISD, highlighted that the deadline for applications is Friday, February 27, 2026, at 1700 hours.
Due to limited space and expected high demand, each media house will be granted only one accreditation. Media outlets with existing accreditation for covering the Presidency may use their currently assigned reporters for this event. All photographers and videographers granted access must arrive by 0645 hours for security clearance, prominently displaying their accreditation badges. Compliance with security personnel and liaison officers' instructions is mandatory, and media personnel must remain within designated zones throughout the event.
The statement emphasized that only professional cameras and video equipment will be permitted, with no drones or aerial devices allowed without prior written consent. The Presidency Communications and Ghana Television will offer an official live video feed accessible to all broadcasters interested in the event.
Restricted areas include the Presidential dais and surrounding areas, accessible only to accredited photographers and videographers within the Red Security Zone. Other restricted zones include security checkpoints and VIP seating areas. Accreditation is strictly non-transferable, and late arrivals will be denied entry to the event.
