Koforidua: A man believed to be in his late 40s has reportedly been found dead at Koforidua in the Eastern Region, leaving residents alarmed and raising suspicions of foul play.
According to Ghana Web, the Assemblyman for the Adweso Town Electoral Area, Samuel Atta Amo, shared that he received information about the incident early in the morning and proceeded to the scene to assess the situation. "I received the phone call in the morning around 6 o'clock a.m. But there is a dead body around, so as part of our duties and responsibilities in the community, I have to also come around and see what is going on," Atta Amo stated.
Upon arriving at the scene, Atta Amo immediately alerted the police to take over the investigation. "When I came around and I saw that there was a dead body around, so what I have to do was to inform the police for them to also come around," he explained. The identity and cause of death remain unknown, and according to Atta Amo, they are awaiting further investigation by the authorities to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Residents have expressed heightened fear in the area, with some calling for improved street lighting and a stronger police presence to deter crime. The community is on edge as they await answers and hope for measures to enhance their safety and security.
