Logarusic Optimistic About Nations FC’s CAF Confederation Cup Journey

Kumasi: Nations FC head coach Zdravko Logarusic is confident his side can overcome FC Diarra and progress to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup. The Ghanaian club is set to host the Malian side on Sunday, September 13, 2026, with Logarusic urging supporters to show their support in numbers as Nations FC continues its continental campaign.

According to Ghana Web, the Croatian coach believes the team has learned from its initial experience of playing outside Ghana and is now better prepared for the challenge. Logarusic highlighted that a significant number of players experienced international travel for the first time, which initially added pressure. However, he is optimistic about the upcoming match, stating that the team has grown from the experience and is ready to tackle the challenge head-on.

Logarusic also addressed concerns regarding the absence of a prolific goalscorer, emphasizing the importance of teamwork. He noted the common struggle among African clubs to find a player who can consistently score 15-20 goals per season. Instead, he focuses on the collective effort, expecting various players to contribute to finding the back of the net.

The decision to join Nations FC was driven by Logarusic's desire to compete on the African stage, and he expressed admiration for the depth of talent in Ghanaian football. He is determined to represent Ghanaian football effectively and has set ambitious goals for reaching the group stage of the competition. Logarusic remains confident in his team's ability to advance past the initial stages and make a strong impression in the tournament.
