Asuogyaman: Efforts to strengthen economic independence and reduce poverty among persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the Asuogyaman District have received a boost with the disbursement of livelihood support under the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
According to Ghana News Agency, several beneficiaries were provided with equipment and business support packages to help expand their enterprises, create sustainable income sources, and improve their standard of living. The support formed part of the fourth disbursement of the 2025 DACF allocation for PWDs, funded by the Asuogyaman District Assembly.
Items distributed included deep freezers, welding machines, hairdressing tools, barbering equipment, wheelbarrows, agrochemicals, cosmetics, paints, provisions, a movable cassava grinding machine, materials for liquid soap production, and assorted food items.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman, Mr. Godwin Bobobee, said the intervention reflected the Assembly's commitment to ensuring that PWDs were not left behind in the district's development agenda. 'Creating opportunities for vulnerable groups remains a key priority of the Assembly, as development can only be meaningful when every member of society is given the chance to contribute and thrive,' he said.
