Kumasi: Kumawood actor and producer LilWin has hit back hard at critics demanding he publicly congratulate Dr Likee for his sold-out O2 Indigo show in London.
According to Ghana Web, the same entertainment industry currently pressuring LilWin to applaud a colleague remained silent when he staged his own major productions. The controversy erupted after LilWin alleged that Dr Likee’s headline comedy event at the O2 Indigo in London on May 22, 2026, was not self-funded, claiming he knew the individual who had financed it.
These claims were quickly refuted by Dr Likee’s associate, Papa Kumasi, who revealed that Likee had sold his personal car to fund the show. Media personality DJ Slim further questioned LilWin’s credibility, stating that he ‘could not even fill Prempeh Assembly Hall.’
In a viral video on social media, LilWin retaliated against his critics, stating, ‘Those people who know the facts and are just talking anyhow, God will deal with you guys.’ He maintained that he owes no one any congratulations, highlighting that he never received any recognition from Dr Likee or the wider Kumawood community for his own shows.
LilWin recounted his experiences, saying, ‘Those of you angry that I didn’t tell someone congratulations, listen. I had a very big show. The show took four days. The person you’re saying I should congratulate did not say anything to me or post anything on his socials.’ He pointed out that when he premiered “A Country Called Ghana” in Accra, selling out the National Theatre with notable personalities like Medikal, MPs, and ministers in attendance, he received no congratulatory messages from colleagues.
He further addressed reports that he had originally been scheduled to appear on the show before being dropped, stating, ‘I wasn’t even invited to the show, so why am I being forced to congratulate someone?’
