Tema: A light aircraft crashed at the Oninku Drive School Park at Tema Community One on Monday afternoon. The incident led to a fire that burned the aircraft's occupants.
According to Ghana News Agency, the cause of the crash is yet to be established. Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) suspect that about three people may have been on board the aircraft. As of 1600 hours, the GNFS and the Ghana Police Service had retrieved two charred bodies from the wreckage.
The crash drew a large crowd of residents who gathered at the scene to view the wreckage. Ahmed Abdullia, Assembly Member for the Kwesi Plange Electoral Area, confirmed that none of the students at the nearby school were hurt in the incident.
Meanwhile, a search is ongoing to determine whether more bodies are trapped in the wreckage.
