In a conversation with Saturday Beats, the 'Adulthood Na Scam' singer emphasized her commitment to building a lasting career through authentic songs that resonate with listeners over time.
According to Ghana Web, Lad© acknowledged the pressure artists face in today's fast-paced music industry, where the appeal of viral hits is ever-present. She shared, "For me, the pressure definitely exists because we're in a time where everything moves so fast, and it's easy to feel like every song has to go viral. But I have learnt that virality is a moment, while a career is built over time." Lad© stressed the importance of consistency and nurturing a community around one's music as key elements that encourage listeners to remain engaged.
Lad© advised young artists to view viral success as a bonus rather than the sole measure of achievement. She urged them to focus on honing their craft and constructing a sustainable career. "My advice to young artistes like me is to appreciate the viral moments if they come, but don't let them become your only goal. Keep sharpening your craft, stay true to yourself and build a career that is designed to last," she advised.
Reflecting on her hit song 'Adulthood Na Scam', Lad© revealed that her understanding of adulthood has evolved. Initially perceiving it as primarily about financial responsibilities, she has since recognized the broader spectrum of challenges and growth it encompasses. "When I wrote 'Adulthood Anthem', I thought adulthood was just about paying bills. I didn't know it was a subscription service that renews every month," she humorously noted.
Adulthood, according to Lad©, is a continuous learning experience that requires resilience and an appreciation for small victories. "You are never really done learning. Every stage comes with new responsibilities, new lessons and new versions of yourself. The challenges don't necessarily get smaller; you just get stronger and wiser in how you handle them," she remarked.
