Accra: Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has opened up about the emotional pain and personal struggles that inspired one of his songs, "Mene Woa." Speaking in an interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz FM, the singer disclosed that the song was born out of real-life heartbreak and a period when he felt powerless in a relationship.
According to Ghana Web, Kwabena Kwabena composed the track from a place of deep emotions after losing the woman he loved to another man. He described the experience as one where he was helpless, which deeply influenced the emotional essence of "Mene Woa."
The singer further elaborated on the circumstances surrounding the song's creation, explaining that he was in love and someone else was trying to take his woman. Ultimately, that person succeeded, leaving a lasting impact on Kwabena Kwabena's life and music. He noted that this occurred before he gained fame, during a time when he had not yet established himself in the music industry.
