Krachi nchumuru: Mr Solomon Kuyon, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Krachi Nchumuru Constituency, has donated medical equipment and logistics to health facilities in the constituency to improve healthcare delivery. The donation forms part of the MP's efforts to strengthen public services and improve the welfare of residents, particularly in underserved communities.
According to Ghana News Agency, the beneficiary facilities were the Grubi Health Centre, Wonando Health Centre, and Borae No. 2 Health Centre. Items presented included hospital beds, Kama generator plants for each facility to provide backup power during emergencies, wheelchairs, hand gloves, blood pressure apparatus, glucometers, and assorted essential medicines for facilities with urgent medical needs. The Wonando Health Centre received three hospital beds, while the Grubi and Borae No. 2 Health Centres received two beds each.
Addressing health workers and community members during the presentation, Mr Kuyon emphasized that access to quality healthcare remained a priority. He stated that the donation was aimed at improving patient care and supporting health professionals to deliver efficient services. He highlighted that the generator plants would ensure uninterrupted healthcare services during power fluctuations, especially in emergency situations.
Mr Kuyon explained that the Wonando Health Centre, which he facilitated and constructed more than a decade ago but was yet to become operational, received additional hospital beds to prepare the facility for future use. He added that St Luke's Hospital at Chinderi had also benefited from a similar donation of hospital beds.
At the Borae No. 2 Health Centre, health officials raised concerns about the breakdown of the facility's ambulance. In response, the MP assured the community that he would facilitate the repair of the ambulance and, where repairs were not possible, work with the appropriate authorities to secure a replacement. He also pledged to renovate the dilapidated police bungalow at Borae No. 2 Township to improve accommodation for security personnel serving the area.
Mr Kuyon further announced that the Banda Health Centre would receive a similar package of medical equipment and supplies, adding that the items had already arrived in Chinderi and would be delivered to the facility immediately.
