Krachi east: Mr. Nelson Kofi Djabab, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Krachi East constituency, has expressed gratitude to First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, for constructing a maternity and children's ward in his constituency.
According to Ghana News Agency, the MP praised Lordina Mahama's efforts in bringing healthcare services closer to mothers and children in Krachi East of the Oti Region. Mr. Djabab emphasized that the facility would significantly impact the lives of the local population, particularly pregnant women and newborns.
During his engagement with the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Djabab discussed the existing challenges faced by residents in accessing healthcare services. He noted that the new ward is expected to reduce referrals and ensure timely medical assistance. The MP assured his commitment to implementing sustainable policies and projects aimed at improving the well-being of his constituents.
Furthermore, Mr. Djabab urged the staff who will operate the facility to maintain the building properly to ensure its longevity. Nana Odam Gyamfi, president of the Akroso Traditional Council, also commended Mrs. Lordina Mahama for establishing the modern maternity and children's ward, which was opened for public use on February 28, 2026.
