Kintampo Rural Bank Drives Impactful CSR Investments Across Bono East Region

Accra: Mr. Martin Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of Kintampo Rural Bank in the Bono East Region, has announced that the bank has made significant investments in healthcare, education, agriculture, and community development through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme within its operational area. He highlighted the rehabilitation of the Kintampo Divisional Police Armoury and the construction of mechanised boreholes in Yipala, Kintampo, and several adjoining communities, improving access to clean water.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Mensah added that the bank sponsored special awards for the best female and physically challenged farmers during the 41st Farmers' Day celebrations in six municipalities and districts in the region in 2025. He noted that the bank had also constructed several classroom blocks to support education and improve learning conditions for schoolchildren. In an interview at Kintampo, Mr. Mensah said the interventions aimed at improving the livelihoods of people within the bank's operational areas.

He mentioned that as the bank prepared to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026, it remained committed to providing quality financial services to its customers and supporting community development initiatives. Mr. Mensah described the bank's recent financial performance as exceptional, citing significant growth in assets, deposits, investments, loans, and profitability. The bank's total assets increased by 138 per cent, rising from GHS55.09 million in 2020 to GHS131.06 million in 2024.

Mr. Mensah reported that customer deposits grew by 172 per cent from GHS39.45 million in 2020 to GHS107.47 million in 2024, driven by a strong deposit mobilisation strategy. The bank's investment portfolio expanded by 101 per cent, increasing from GHS32.24 million in 2021 to GHS64.90 million in 2024. Loans and advances rose by 216 per cent from GHS14.05 million in 2021 to GHS44.43 million in 2024. The bank's equity increased by 87 per cent from GHS10.90 million in 2021 to GHS20.40 million in 2024, further strengthening its financial position.

Mr. Mensah noted that pre-tax profit surged by 613 per cent from GHS1.44 million in 2021 to GHS10.29 million in 2024, while profit after tax remained strong at GHS6.94 million in 2024. He emphasized that the bank would continue to introduce innovative products and services to meet the evolving needs of customers and deliver excellent financial services. The bank's outstanding performance has earned it recognition from the Ghana Club 100, the CENBA Africa Business Excellence Awards, and the Ghana Financial Intermediation Awards.
