KEDA Ghana Aims for GHS1 Billion in Annual Tax Contributions with New Factory Operations

Accra: Mr. Lorry Li-Wei, the Managing Director of KEDA Ghana Ceramics Limited (Ltd), announced that the company contributed GHC738 million in taxes for the 2025 fiscal year. The company projects this figure to increase significantly to approximately GHC1 billion annually with the full operation of their Float Glass Manufacturing factory.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Li-Wei emphasized that KEDA's investment in Ghana has been deliberate, strategic, and long-term, aiming to build an industrial hub to meet domestic, regional, and international demands. He reaffirmed the company's commitment to contributing to Ghana's socio-economic transformation, expressing optimism about growing with the nation and enhancing its manufacturing future.

Mr. Li-Wei outlined that the company has invested over $300 million in establishing six production lines and a sanitary ware production line. The operations currently cover over 400 acres, with an additional 400 acres secured for future expansion and investment. This strategic approach is aligned with the government's 24-hour Economy policy, as KEDA operates in three shifts to ensure uninterrupted production and maximize industrial productivity.

KEDA is China's leading manufacturer of ceramic tiles and sanitary ware, holding about 40 per cent of the market share domestically. The company boasts a daily production capacity of 200,000 square meters of tiles and 4,200 pieces of sanitary ware. Approximately 60 per cent of their products, marketed under brands like Twyford, Micasso, and Frencia, are exported to more than 20 countries across Africa, the Americas, and Europe, generating valuable foreign exchange earnings and enhancing Ghana's global industrial standing.

Beyond their export achievements, Mr. Li-Wei highlighted KEDA's role as a responsible corporate citizen through consistent tax contributions supporting national development. He noted that 99 per cent of KEDA's raw materials are sourced locally, which strengthens the local supply chain, promotes sustainability, and retains economic value within Ghana.
