Kassena nankana: Mrs. Faustina A. Abulu, the Kassena Nankana Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has embarked on a two-day inspection tour of ongoing and completed projects funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) across the municipality. The inspection aims to familiarize the MCE with the progress of these projects and engage with community members to understand their priority needs.
According to Ghana News Agency, the inspection exercise involved contractors, community members, and key stakeholders through site meetings. These gatherings focused on assessing project progress, addressing any challenges, and ensuring the quality delivery of the projects. Among the projects inspected was the construction of a CHPS Compound with an Outpatient Department (OPD), dispensary, accommodation, and furnishing at Pinda, which is currently in the painting stage.
A 2-unit kindergarten classroom block with ancillary facilities at Navro-Pungu has been completed and is awaiting handover. Additionally, a 3-unit classroom block with offices and sanitation facilities at Aforigabisi is ongoing and approximately 95% complete. The MCE also inspected an ongoing 6-unit classroom block with a KVIP, urinal, and changing room at Nawagnia Primary School. Furthermore, a 3-unit classroom block with offices, sanitation facilities, and furniture supply at Yua has been completed.
Mrs. Abulu expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work and informed the GNA that the Assembly had also drilled 12 boreholes across various communities, with ten equipped with hand pumps and two mechanized with overhead tanks. She reiterated the Assembly's commitment to delivering quality infrastructure to improve education, healthcare, and water access.
The MCE highlighted that the NDC government, under President John Dramani Mahama, is focused on development and ensuring equitable distribution of resources. Mrs. Abulu also acknowledged that the road networks to Pinda, Yua, Manyoro, and other communities require improvement and assured that she would advocate to the central government for necessary interventions. She urged community members to maintain their trust in the NDC government to successfully implement its reset agenda for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
