Accra: The KAAF University has officially launched its 20th Anniversary Animation Logo, urging stakeholders and alumni to actively participate in celebrating past achievements, strategizing for the future, and contributing donations. The logo was unveiled by Ghana's Vice-President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, during the university's 15th congregation, alongside Chancellor Michael Aidoo and the University's Management. The main anniversary celebration is scheduled for 2027.
According to Ghana News Agency, the anniversary will include alumni mentorship programs, lectures, a history of the University, inter-faculty games, and fundraising for developmental projects. These activities aim to reflect the university's inclusive nature. Vice-President Opoku-Agyemang congratulated KAAF University on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama for achieving full-fledged university status. She emphasized the responsibility of the university to foster public confidence in its graduates and highlighted the theme, "Transforming lives, Transforming Ghana," as a reminder of the importance of individual development in national progress.
During a media engagement, Chancellor Aidoo expressed gratitude to God for the university's journey and reaffirmed their commitment to preparing students to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, Creative Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields. Prof. Kwame Boasiako Omane-Antwi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, described the event as a celebration of the university's maturity and self-reliance. He attributed the achievements to strategic investments in academic quality, governance, and the commitment of all university stakeholders.
Prof. Omane-Antwi emphasized that the university's growth from independence to excellence is a testament to the power of vision, integrity, and discipline. He acknowledged the foundational role played by mentor universities and highlighted the importance of higher education in national development. In an interview, Mr. Aidoo reiterated the university's commitment to its vision of excellence in STEAM education.
Dr. Linda Anane Donkor, the University Registrar, noted the significance of the milestone as evidence of KAAF University's dedication to quality education and innovation. She detailed the university's journey towards obtaining its Presidential Charter and assured stakeholders of the continued commitment to serving domestic and international students' needs. Dr. Donkor emphasized the university's dedication to providing relevant educational programs that prepare students for both local and global job markets.
