Jinapor Urges NPP to Acknowledge Governance Shortfalls While Celebrating Achievements

Accra: Member of Parliament for Damango, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to openly recognize the shortfalls experienced during their tenure in government. Jinapor emphasized the importance of admitting these shortcomings while also celebrating the transformative impact the party had on Ghana.

According to Ghana Web, Jinapor spoke at a TESCON event where he highlighted that it is common for governments to face challenges and not accomplish all their intended goals. He encouraged party members to be honest about these issues, stating, "When we were in government, it is important for us to acknowledge and admit that there were some shortfalls, and we should have the courage to admit that." Jinapor noted that acknowledging these aspects is a step towards a more transparent and forthright governance, as promised by Dr. Bawumia.

Jinapor further asserted that despite the shortcomings, the NPP governments under Kufuor and Akufo-Addo were periods of significant transformation and development in Ghana. He urged party members to be bold in accepting and defending the achievements made during these administrations.
