Weija gbawe: The Oblogo Health Centre in the Weija Gbawe Municipality has received a significant enhancement with the inauguration of a new Wellness and Adolescent Clinic aimed at improving healthcare services for young individuals.
According to Ghana Web, the facility was constructed under the leadership of Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, Member of Parliament for Weija Gbawe and Second Deputy Minority Whip, and was officially handed over on Friday, 7 August 2026. The new clinic is expected to address key adolescent health needs and support the broader preventive health agenda of the region.
Welcoming attendees at the inauguration, Dr. Mrs. Jennifer Mintah Andoh, the Weija Gbawe Municipal Health Director, emphasized the clinic's role as a timely intervention. She stated that it would expand access to quality, adolescent-friendly health services and praised Hon. Shaib for his commitment to local health infrastructure. Dr. Andoh assured stakeholders that the Municipal Health Directorate would ensure the clinic is adequately staffed, equipped, and maintained to offer professional, respectful, and compassionate care.
The clinic is set to provide a range of services including counselling, reproductive health education, preventive care, and general wellness support. It aims to create a safe environment for youth seeking guidance on physical, emotional, and social health matters. The ceremony was attended by health officials, traditional rulers, community members, and key stakeholders, marking a significant step forward in adolescent healthcare in the municipality.
