Tel aviv: The Israeli military announced that it has killed a senior Iranian commander in an attack carried out in Tehran this week.
According to Ghana News Agency, the individual identified was Jamshid Eshaghi, described as 'the commander of the Oil Headquarters for the Iranian terror regime's forces.' The statement emphasized that the oil headquarters played a crucial role in enabling Iran's power structure to sustain its activities and military expansion through profits generated from oil sales.
The statement further highlighted Eshaghi's role in financing Iran's regional allies, including Lebanon's Hezbollah militia and the Houthi militia in Yemen. Eshaghi had been listed on a US Treasury Department sanctions list, where he was classified as a globally operating terrorist.
In its ongoing conflict with Iran, Israel has previously targeted and killed multiple high-ranking figures within Iran's power structure, including supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
