Bolgatanga: The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has expressed concerns that certain members within his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), believe he has been treated unfairly. He suggests that this perception has led to a more favorable response from various government agencies when he seeks assistance.
According to Ghana Web, Adongo revealed that several agency heads, who sympathize with his position, are quick to offer support for his constituency projects. He noted that while many NDC MPs struggle to secure funding for initiatives like school construction, he has found agency heads more inclined to help due to their perception of his contributions to the party.
Adongo, in an interview on Dreamz FM in Bolgatanga, explained that his appeals to state institutions often receive prompt attention because these institutions recognize his political career may have been overlooked. Despite his significant role in Ghana's Parliament, he was notably absent from President John Dramani Mahama's list of ministerial appointees, sparking public discussions about his standing within the party.
He highlighted that his position as Chairman of the Finance Committee of Parliament is influential and allows him to leverage resources for his constituents. Adongo emphasized that within a short time of the NDC taking power, he managed to secure funding for a new school in his constituency, a feat not commonly achieved by other MPs across the nation.
