Accra: Spokesperson for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's presidential campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). In a video shared on social media on July 12, 2026, announcing his decision, Aboagye said his ambition was driven by a desire to rebuild the party's communication structures and position the NPP for a return to power.
According to Ghana Web, Aboagye expressed his belief that the NPP is on the path to regaining prominence, emphasizing the need for a Communications Director who not only responds to issues but also builds a robust communication system capable of shaping public discourse. His vision involves creating an organization that equips and leads communicators across all constituencies to effectively promote the party's message ahead of the next election cycle.
He highlighted the importance of establishing a communications structure that would remind Ghanaians of the reasons they previously trusted the NPP, thereby restoring confidence in the party's leadership and policies. Aboagye emphasized that his candidacy is not about acquiring a title but is dedicated to securing the party's future. He aims to support party supporters and communicators who have worked to advance the NPP's agenda.
Miracles Aboagye also pointed out that his decision is aimed at assisting party communicators who, in his view, deserve an organization that acknowledges and strengthens their efforts.
