Accra: The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has announced immediate changes in the Police top hierarchy. A letter titled 'Postings - Senior Police Officers', dated February 2, 2026, and signed by the IGP, detailed the new command changes.
According to Ghana News Agency, under the reshuffle, Commissioner of Police (COP) Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba has been moved from Director-General, Technical to Director-General, National Police Academy and Training Directorate. COP Iddi Lansah Seidu transitions from Welfare to Technical.
Additionally, COP Dr Vance Baba Gariba has been reassigned from Operations to Research and Planning. COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe is moving from the Police Professional Standards Bureau to Operations.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Darko Offei Lomotey has been shifted from Research and Planning to the Police Professional Standards Bureau, while DCOP Eric Ken Winful transitions from the Police Academy to Welfare.
At the regional level, DCOP Charles K. Adu is moving from the Central Region to the Eastern South Region, with DCOP George B. Ohene Boadi taking over as Central Regional Commander.
Other notable changes include DCOP George Ankomah's move to the Eastern North Region and DCOP Alex Kodjo Wowolo's reassignment from Director/ICT at the National Headquarters to Central MTTD, Ashanti Region.
