According to ghana news agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, the donation was presented during a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, by a delegation from the Institute led by its Director, Mr. Emmanuel Arthur, and Legal Director, Madam Joyce Adu. The visit also aimed to express the Institute's appreciation to the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) for its support in successfully hosting the 2026 Accountants' Conference in Ho.
Presenting the cheque, Madam Joyce Adu stated that the donation fulfilled a pledge made by the Institute during the closing ceremony of the conference held in May this year. She emphasized ICA Ghana's recognition of the importance of investing in young people and expressed pleasure in supporting the Volta Youth Development Fund to promote youth empowerment and skills development in the region.
Madam Adu further expressed gratitude to the Regional Coordinating Council and stakeholders for their collaboration, which contributed to the success of the conference, noting that the warm hospitality extended to participants had made the event memorable.
Upon receiving the donation, Mr. James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, expressed appreciation to ICA Ghana for honouring its pledge and supporting the region's youth development agenda. He noted that the contribution demonstrated the Institute's commitment to corporate social responsibility and its desire to partner with the government in promoting opportunities for young people.
The Minister reiterated the commitment of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to strengthen partnerships with professional bodies, corporate organisations, and development partners to accelerate socio-economic development across the region. He highlighted that the Volta Youth Development Fund was established to support initiatives that empower young people through education, skills training, entrepreneurship, and other development interventions.
Mr. Gunu assured the delegation that the donation would be used judiciously to benefit young people and contribute to the sustainable development of the Volta Region. ICA Ghana had pledged the GHS10,000 donation during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Accountants' Conference held in Ho in May, as part of its contribution to youth empowerment in the region.
