The Deputy General Secretary of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor dreams of becoming the chief scribe of the party.

If his boss, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the current NDC General Secretary does not run for the position again in the party’s upcoming executive elections, he says he will take up the job.

Dr. Otokunor expressed confidence that he would win the election and become the next chief scribe while speaking on the Accra-based Angel FM on Friday, September 2 monitored by Modernghana News.

“If God permits and if the nominations in the party are opened and if my boss(Asiedu Nketia) does not take forms for the general secretary position, then I will be the next secretary for the party. It is subject to what Asiedu Nketia will do,” he said.

He clearly stated that he will never contest his boss, Asiedu Nketia if he decides to run for the post again.

“I won’t contest him if he takes the position. But he has already told me that he will not contest for the same position again. So mark it on the wall, the next time I enter your studio, I will be the NDC’s general secretary,” he intimated.

According to speculations, the current General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia is planning to unseat the current Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
