Akua: Akua, a mother of two from the Ashanti Region, is demanding compensation from Elder Isaac, who is said to be an elder of the Church of Pentecost at Fumso.
According to Ghana Web, Akua, who says she is HIV positive, met Elder Isaac through a company work, where he was her manager, on October 19, 2025, at New Edubiase. She explained that during their first meeting, she informed him about her HIV status and told him she was on medication. However, she alleged that Isaac insisted on pursuing a relationship with her and promised to marry her. Akua further claimed that Isaac told her he had not been in a relationship or had any sexual partner for the previous two years at the time they met. Based on those assurances, they began dating.
Akua stated, "I told him I had HIV but he said he still wanted me. For the first two months, he did not use protection. I even told the hospital staff that I had found a man who was having unprotected sex with me and they asked me to bring him. But he refused to go with me to the hospital for medication." According to her, about a year into the relationship, Isaac informed her that he was no longer interested in her because of her health condition. She also claimed to have discovered that Isaac already had a partner who was pregnant and living with him but they stayed apart because of his work.
Feeling neglected, Akua took the matter to Oyerepa Afutuo, a programme on Oyerepa TV that resolves domestic disputes on April 15, 2026, where she sought redress and demanded GHS4,500 as compensation. She alleged that after reporting the issue to Isaac's senior pastor in Fumso, he paid GHS1,550, leaving an outstanding balance of GHS2,950. Akua also disclosed that she warned Isaac's pregnant partner not to have sexual relations with him, claiming he had engaged in unprotected intercourse with her despite knowing her HIV status.
When contacted on the programme, Isaac denied Akua's claims. He stated that Akua did not disclose her HIV status at the beginning of the relationship but only informed him about two weeks after they had already become intimate. "It is not true that she told me from the beginning that she had HIV. We had already been together for more than two weeks before she told me and she later apologised," he said. Isaac also denied owing her any additional money, stating that the only amount mentioned when the issue was first reported to the pastor was GHS1,550, which he had already paid. "After she reported me to the pastor, the amount she mentioned was GHS1,550 and I paid it. Now she is demanding extra money," he said. He added that he had gone to the hospital twice for HIV tests and both results came back negative. Isaac said he now wants to move on with his pregnant partner.
