According to ghana news agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, Mr Adom stressed in an interview that the continuation of Ho's 'Oxygen City' accolade is contingent upon the preservation of its green cover. He cautioned residents against unauthorized tree felling, noting that offenders would face arrest and prosecution to deter such actions. The MCE reiterated the municipality's identity and climate resilience are inextricably linked to its green cover and assured that environmental protection regulations would be strictly enforced.
Mr Adom also announced a collaborative initiative between the Assembly and the Volta Regional Cadet Corps to launch a significant tree-planting exercise scheduled for June 20, 2026. He further revealed plans to plant trees along the dual carriageway to create a green canopy, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the regional capital.
With the rainy season approaching, Mr Adom urged residents to avoid dumping refuse into drains and constructing buildings on waterways, as such practices contribute to flooding. He highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean environment as a collective responsibility crucial to preventing disasters.
