Hohoe: The Hohoe Municipal Assembly has engaged its four Zonal Councils to deepen governance at the local level and to strengthen the work of Zonal Council in the Municipality. The Councils involved in this initiative are Gbi South, Alavanyo, Hohoe, and Agumatsa Zonal Councils.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Wisdom Kporngor, the Hohoe Municipal Coordinator Director, emphasized that meeting with these substructures was intended to energize them to effectively function as expected by addressing some of the challenges they faced. He noted that the Assembly, alongside the executives of the substructures, could deliberate on these issues and collectively find solutions because the Councils are integral components of the Assembly.
Mr. Kporngor expressed the expectation that following the meeting, the Councils would be properly reconstituted and ensure that their quarterly meetings are conducted, in addition to enhancing their revenue mobilization efforts. The meeting aimed to refresh the Councils on their functions, with an expectation that they would revamp or initiate their required activities.
He further mentioned that apart from receiving administrative support in terms of logistics, the Councils were also aided in undertaking some of the development agendas executed by the Assembly, by leading these processes in their respective areas. Mr. Rafiu Adams, the Presiding Member of the Hohoe Municipal Assembly, urged Assembly members to support the Councils in their electoral areas to ensure proper functionality.
