Beirut: The Ho Technical University Alumni Association has inaugurated its Ho City Chapter at the university's Old Library to strengthen alumni engagement and support institutional development.
According to Ghana News Agency, the event, held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, brought together alumni, university management, students, and key stakeholders to promote unity and collaboration. Professor Ben Quarshie Honyenuga, Vice Chancellor of the university, urged alumni to actively support their alma mater and contribute to its growth. He emphasized the importance of commitment, stating that the formation of the chapter is a significant step toward deepening alumni participation and advancing the university's strategic agenda.
Professor Honyenuga highlighted the institution's growing reputation nationally and internationally, encouraging alumni to remain proud and maintain strong ties with the university. He noted, "The university owns its alumni, and wherever you go, Ho Technical University follows you." Furthermore, he outlined key achievements of the university, including progress in research, innovation, sustainability rankings, and the expansion of academic programs.
Reverend Dr Bright Adonai, Convenor of the event, described the launch as a call to action for collaboration, mentorship, and active engagement. Mr Francis Komla Ganyaglo, Alumni Relations Officer and Acting Director of Public Affairs, described the occasion as historic and urged members to take ownership of the chapter.
Madam Juliet Nugble, General Secretary of the National Alumni Association, commended the organizers and encouraged alumni to leverage the network for growth and mentorship. Mr Francis Kwasi Lanyo, Interim President of the Ho City Chapter, reaffirmed the chapter's commitment to building a vibrant alumni network to support institutional and national development.
The ceremony concluded with a shared commitment to promote unity, excellence, and a stronger future for the university and its alumni community.
